UWG Day of Caring

Day of Caring is an example of how, through partnership, United Way Ghana has been able to achieve. The single-day community event brings together both corporate institutions and community groups and encourages people to direct the spirit of love and compassion inherent in the St Valentines Day tradition towards community service.

Annually, United Way Ghana sets aside a day on or around 14 February to symbolize the constructive power of national unity. It also aims to promote the Ghanaian commitment to supporting disenfranchised communities through the act of volunteering, donating money, and providing aid.

Day of Caring is a fun way of linking members of the corporate world to individuals in disenfranchised communities. United Way Ghana works with communities in the following areas:

Educational infrastructure development
Health and sanitation promotion
Care of orphaned and vulnerable children
Enhancement of aged care facilities
Care and support for the physically challenged
