Established in February 1998, the Mother Teresa School was established to break the persistent cycle of female illiteracy leading to girl child trafficking and girl child abuse in the community. The school has a student population of over 500 mainly trafficked, orphans and highly vulnerable children from Senya Beraku and its environs. The Mother Teresa School was consequently established in February 1998 to take care of these neglected girls. The school which started with 25 children currently has a student population of 524. Senya Beraku is a coastal community in Awutu-Efutu-Senya District in the Central Region with a population of about 19,000.
