Who is United Way Ghana
United Way Ghana (UWG) is a unique not-for-profit organisation that seeks to create a society where the culture of local volunteerism responds to community needs. UWG plays a leadership role in bringing together businesses, labour, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) institutions and government where appropriate and develops capacity to build a caring community, leveraging resources to accomplish this. UWG provides support for donors who are interested in making contributions to meet the education, development and other critical needs of Ghanaian communities. United Way Ghana stands for efficient, effective and transparent management of fundraising system.
Incorporated in November 2003, UWG was officially recognized by UWI on 5th December, 2003 as an independent United Way member organization. UWG is linked to more than 4,500 United Way and Community Chest Organizations in 47 Countries and territories on six continents via its affiliation with UWI, the global network for fundraising and donations.
Currently, a 10-member Governing Council composed of dedicated corporate and community leaders who volunteer their time and resources, governs United Way Ghana and decides its priorities. |
