United Way Ghana hosts Training Session on Branding and Digital Marketing facilitated by Mr. Confidence Mawusi on the Henkel Mentoring Session for Youth Empowerment Project Participants
In the month of May, the United Way Ghana team organized an online training session for the Youth Empowerment Project participants on the Henkel Mentoring Session. The training session was on Branding and Digital Marketing, and was facilitated by Mr. Confidence Mawusi.
Mr. Confidence Mawusi, is a Digital Literacy and IT Policy and Governance Expert, and during the training session he shared key insights on how to promote your corporate brand and build an effective digital presence. This training is especially important for these young participants because the online and social media platforms constitute a viable business platform for building and sustaining your business brand in today’s economy.The United way Ghana and Henkel Youth Empowerment Program is focused on youth empowerment and development, skills building, supporting boosting confidence, and nurturing the next generation of leaders.

PRU Climate Action Project: United Way Ghana organizes Training for Environmental Sustainability Club Teachers and Student Leaders from participating Schools in Chorkor
The Environmental Sustainability Club is an integral aspect of the PRU Climate Action Project in Chorkor, designed the foster long-term sustainability for the climate action project being implemented within the community. Following the successful orientation session organized with the club teachers and student members, the United Way Ghana team organized a teacher and student leaders training session on recycling and upcycling of waste materials.
The training included a theory training session on the principles and structure of the club engagement, group sessions for the designing of club curriculum and timetable, and a practical session on upcycling bottle-tops in mini-cream containers and plastic containers into flower pots for gardening.
After the training session, the United Way Ghana team handed over important recycling and upcycling tools to the various school clubs, which will go a long way in ensuring that the schools possess the necessary tools required to ensure an efficient management of the club activities. With an existing membership strength of 50 students per school, the club members are expected to be ambassadors of the PRU Climate Action project in their homes and community.
Vivo Energy Ghana Green4Clean Project: 12 Teachers Trained on Biogas Production using Household Waste
In continuation of the training on the Green4Clean project, United Way Ghana organized the Facilitators training for 12 Teachers from La Enobal Basic School and La Presby Primary A&B, on the Vivo Renewable Energy Project funded by Vivo Energy Ghana. The Facilitators, 3 each from La Presby Primary A&B Schools and 6 from La Enobal Basic School, were trained on Biogas Production under the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Learning Modules by Trainers from Academic City University College.This second phase of the training which follows the previous training on solar power, is equipping teachers with the skills needed to educate the students. Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Future”, the project seeks to provide hands-on experience for teachers and students to learn about solar, wind, and other renewable energy technologies through workshops, projects, and field trips.The Vivo Energy Ghana and United Way Ghana partnership demonstrates a commitment to raise awareness on environmental challenges and promote the importance of adopting sustainable energy practices within schools and the community at large.
United Way Ghana partner Standard Chartered Bank and Plan Parenthood Association of Ghana to commemorate the World Menstrual Hygiene Day in Accra and Kumasi
In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we hosted a special outreach event at Pantang Presbyterian Basic School and Pantang M/A Basic School in Accra, with the generous support of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana. We engaged 500 amazing young girls, providing vital education on menstrual hygiene and distributing sanitary pads and hygiene kits to help them manage their periods with pride and safety.In Kumasi, the United Way Ghana team partnered with Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, to commemorate the Menstrual Hygiene Day with an impactful outreach to 285 female students of Amoam-Achiase MA Basic School in Kumasi. Through interactive sessions and open conversations, we educated and empowered young girls on menstrual hygiene, body confidence, and health. Sanitary pads and essential hygiene kits were also distributed to support safe and dignified menstrual care.
Together with our strategic partners, we're breaking the silence, ending the stigma, and building a future where no girl is held back by her period.
